That december we met on the Eastern shore
You were singing and drinking I wanted to let go

Just us alone on the river, our friends had all left townAnd so we stumbled ahead and sample, the sign, we were home

And as we partied away we [?]
And we would never again be the same from within or withoutAnd as you stare in to his eyes you can tell he's a sore, and though
He was like us someday and we should know
Will he forgive us for sins, will he forgive us for failures and doubts
But he will [?] on us, I wish we could've figured it out
